The Actor
I believe that you should smile…because you want to, because it’s natural for you, not because you have to for the camera. This is achieved through relaxation and having a good time. This combined with direction from me will enable you to get a wide variety of expressions. Time and pressure are also important factors in how successful your session will be. I do not like to work under pressure, so clients are booked far enough apart so there will be plenty of time to take care of whatever may arise during your session.

If you like we can schedule a consultation appointment, so that we can discuss your specific needs, your ideas concerning your look, your marketability as well as hair, make-up and specific clothing choices for you. You are the important person. The more insight we have into what your needs are as an individual and as a performer, and what you want or don’t want, the more we are working together to get you the best calling card possible, one which exemplifies you, the individual, as well as you, the performer.

If requested, a make-up artist/hair stylist will be provided for women. They remain at the studio for the entire session. I ask that you provide us with input about your make-up and especially about the way you wear your hair. It is important that you do not drastically change your hair style for a photo session. Men and women, please give your hair about ten days to settle after a cut.

Prior to shooting we will view each look so that you can approve your hair, make-up, clothing, and I can check the lighting. This way you are sure you look good, and I am sure all the technical aspects are right. It is important to me that you are happy with your head shots. This is why I ask you to please be clear about what your needs are, and to be sure when you preview each look that you bring up anything you may not like. Speaking up will avoid problems later and a possible re-shoot.

During the session, I will do everything possible to help you relax, be natural and spontaneous. Your enthusiasm and energy is important in how your expressions will be. I do not rapid fire shots, so you will not receive rows of the same expressions and angle. But REMEMBER, this is a collaborative effort. I need as much energy from you as you do from me. Communicating directly with me and forgetting the camera will insure a more relaxed time…when you smile at ME, your pictures will look like you are smiling at someone, not a camera. My approach to your photographs is to match backgrounds and lighting to the statement you wish to make about yourself. What this means for the actor is a variety of photographic styles within one session.

All photographs need some retouching. Retouching does not mean changing your facial features. Blemishes, blood shot eyes, stray hairs, softening of lines can be taken care of. We will discuss anything else you may want retouched, but remember, you are a real person with your own unique character and personality. Excessive retouching is extremely undesirable.

I have tried to include as much information as you need to make your session as comfortable as possible. If there are any further questions, please fell free to call. Otherwise, let’s sit back, enjoy ourselves and get you GREAT HEAD SHOTS.

MAKE-UP WOMEN:

A make-up artist/hair stylist will be provided at your request. The stylist will be present for your entire session to assist you with various hair styles, make-up changes, clothing, and most inevitably for a second opinion. All make-up is provided by the studio unless you have allergies or prefer your own.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

While you are at the studio you may be interested in other types of photographs to further your career. These may include the following:

· CD Covers
· Publicity shots      cabaret, nightclub, etc. (singer, dancer, musician)
· Body shots           body builder, dancer.

If needed, the make-up artist/hair stylist will remain at the studio. There will be an additional charge for each look.

COPIES:

Quality is essential. I ask that you continue to trust my judgment to the end of the line, especially where reproduction is concerned. I will recommend labs that assure excellent reproduction at the time you pick up your copies.

BEFORE SESSION:

Get a good nights' sleep. Use Visine or any eyewash product to remove the redness. If you want to wear glasses and do not have non-reflective lenses, have the lenses taken out. Tans do not photograph well in B&W, so please be careful before the session. These are suggestions only, however, they are tried and true. Please feel free to offer ideas you feel show you to your best advantage.

Men: Arrive freshly shaved      Women: Arrive without make-up

CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS:

As mentioned earlier, a private consultation will be scheduled prior to your session to thoroughly cover your specific clothing needs.

RE-SHOOT POLICY:      Although I come as close as I can, I cannot always claim perfection. For whatever reasons, people may not be fully pleased, may have had a different idea in mind, or simply feel more comfortable with a little bit of assurance. I have a re-shoot policy which involves the following:

I will be the first to admit any error on my part. If this is the case, you will be re-shot at no charge. If after receiving your contact sheets you are unhappy with one or more of the looks and HAVE APPROVED your Polaroids, you will be re-shot for a fee. Women will also be charged the make-up fee if a make-up artist is requested again. THIS IS WHY I MUST STRESS THAT THE WAY YOU LOOK IN THE POLAROID IS HOW YOU WILL LOOK ON THE CONTACT SHEETS AND IN THE FINAL PRODUCT.

Use of my photographs for publication such as a poster, flyer, or album cover requires a photo credit. Negatives are kept on file and are the property of Paul Greco.
